Well fair enough, but I do see and understand your point, unlike you.

The shocking example was on purpose to illustrate something else, it's a shame you can not understand that and keep focusing on the comparison items vs item.
Completely disagreeing with you does not mean I don't understand the point you are trying to make.

By the way, retirement's so boring that you have to count groans?

Anyway congratulations, you can count, it's already an achievement for you today!
Unfortunately I can't say the same for me, after reviewing 18 of your posts I failed to find an interesting one, and gave up.

If only I was patient, i'm sure I could have easily groaned hundreds of them!

Now I fail to understand that particular post...

You disagree with my methods?
Or with the fact that the nazi victim's item/scalp example was 100% shocking?
Or with the fact that some people can find shocking an item made of [possibly] slaughtered animals? (shocking to a variable proportion, depending on people)?

Well, i'm afraid I have a serious opponent for that Mod election competition... In All fairness she is quite good at it (hey another achievement today!!!)

Actually she was even leading today, leading the race by failed attempt to "public shame", personal attacks, etc...

Guess she had a small advance in "crossing the line"¨!

Just a naive question, but do you PM each other in French? I guess English must be so limiting, but with French the saucepans can really fly

you are wrong. they are raised in excellent conditions and slaughtered painlessly by gas.
Really? I saw a documetary about it. They put a tube in their mouth, one in their backside because to kill them that way does not damage the fur. You should have seen how these animals were terrified in the cage. Could you still wear fur after knowing that? No me.

That's true, especially historically at times when they needed warm jackets and when industry was not so developed...
At times, they killed animals for their fur and for their meat. And I would believe they had a quick and nicer way to kill them. It's totally different from nowadays where some animals are just killed for their fur (or their ivory).

Sigh. I disagree that the use of your "metaphor" is appropriate for this discussion regardless of what you meant to convey with the "metaphor".

okaaay!
So it's my "method" you disapprove.

Fair enough. Are you going to make a dedicated topic about it, saying how I crossed the line and how using such an extreme metaphor is inappropriate?

(that would be quite related to this very topic...)

Why should I when we are having the exact conversation right here? Or do you want a thread titled "Crossing the line while discussing crossing the line"?

I think we should not even consider another topic, as I can understand and appreciate that you don't approve of my "methods".

But in my opinion my methods were the best way to explain the OP why someone else could be shocked and post a video. (quite did not work, but hey! whatever)

But for the sake of stupid topics, i'd say "please create that new one". Especially that it looks quite a funny title

Quite looking forward for the challenge of explaining why "crossing the line about crossing the line" is actually good... erm, i'm sure I'll find something.
