Unable to post thread in "Market Place"

Hi,

I am not able to create thread in "Market Place". System is showing me bellow message. What could be the problem ?

... you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

To be eligible to post in the Marketplace you need to have been a member for 1 week and to have made 10 posts (not including those in Off Topic). See the sticky post at the top of the Marketplace forum.

Four more posts, wait for the system to catch up and you're in.

They're not unique. I paste the text in my reply at least daily and sometimes several times.

It's an indicator of how many people want to advertise here without making any effort to contribute.

(At least the OP of this thread has stuck around a while and made the odd post - well used the marketplace before, anyway...)

Re: Unable to post thread in "Market Place"

The message is a standard vBulletin message.

We have two threads (well one thread and one announcement) always at the top of the For Sale section. We kind of hope that people might read one of them.

well, history has shown that people don't. i'm surprised the admin hasn't thought to make the change has suggested (and also change the system of thanks/groans to display the button but give the error message where there are insufficient posts).

Moderators have no access to change anything but the most basic settings. Apart from creating ads, the administrators have no interest in the forum.

There really is no point. 3 very minor changes of the many requested in recent months have been made. One of those was withdrawn after a day.

Moderators will keep on sending out the reason users can't create ads and deleting ads created in the wrong place. This will have no impact on you Phil (until you become a mderator too).

Re: Unable to post thread in "Market Place"

I had an interesting discussion with Sandgrouper today who reported me due to my "fluffy" posts. I found out that I don't need 10 post to post an add to buy something under Market Place but I think Sandgrouper went offline before he had the chance to elaborate. Could anyone explain how this works (where do I click)? Thank you very much in advance.

Please, read post no 2 on this thread.

You've been a member for a few months, so you should be able to sell.

I'm sure that buying isn't affected by the 10 posts rule so there must be another reason. I notice that your 'fluffy' posts have been deleted and you have replaced them with some more substantial ones so you have reached the 10 posts anyway

Re: Unable to post thread in "Market Place"

Just to clarify for anyone that happens to read this thread later...

You still have to meet minimum requirements (1 wk + 10 on-topic posts) before being allowed to post a Wanted ad in the Marketplace. The only section where one can post without 1 week + 10 posts is Jobs Offered, and only then if you're actually hiring someone (not looking for a job).

These requirements not secret or hidden at all. They are at the top of each Marketplace section, just below the button where one clicks to create a new thread.
