Switch to the "new" Youtube video embedding style?

As you my know there is a "new"* way to embed Youtube videos on websites.

Quote:
The IFrame player API lets you embed a YouTube video player on your website and control the player using JavaScript. Unlike the Flash and JavaScript player APIs, which both involve embedding a Flash object on your web page, the IFrame API posts content to an <iframe> tag on your page
The one real advantage is:
Quote:
This approach provides more flexibility than the previously available APIs since it allows YouTube to serve an HTML5 player rather than a Flash player for mobile devices that do not support Flash.
This will help all those EFers who access the forum with a mobile device or de-installed Flash for security reasons.

Thanks for considering the change.

*) Since July 2010.

I forwarded your post to the site admin.

I can already view embedded youtube videos on an iPad, so I'm not sure if that means Flash isn't used on mobile devices (it is on this PC).

I know that. I was trying to point out that I can play youtube videos that are embedded in EF posts whilst I'm browsing via iPad. So the current version of the bbcode might well use something that allows non-Flash devices to play the video.

Any update on this or has the change already been done? I've uninstalled the flash player and now can't see any embedded youtube videos (OSX). Of course, I can reinstall flash, or use a browser with flash built-in (Chrome) but I don't want to. So ner.

It sometimes takes a while. It might be quicker to send a PM directly to him
