Stop notifications?

Sorry if I'm being dim and just missing this, but how do I turn off email notifications? My inbox is going crazy I'm already checking the forum anyway so I don't need email notifications x

Or, even simpler - scroll down on each email to the unsubscribe link.

No idea what I did ..... if anything, but I'm subscribed to zero threads - even the occasional one I start myself.

Re: Stop notifications?

Same here... I have not changed the default settings and have never received any kind of notification about anything on EF, apart from private messages.

Re: Stop notifications?

The setting that I think you want is:

Control Panel
Subscribed Threads
List Subsciptions
Uncheck the box next to 'Notification' at the top of the list

You can then subsribe to as many threads as you wish but won't get any email notifications

Go into Control Panel, Edit Options. You;ll see the settings there, among others, that allow emails from the system or other users.

Re: How to stop system emails

Another thing you could do, and I did this when I became a mod, is to create a new email address (gmail or similar) just for this sort of thing. I actually have several, which are used for potentially-dodgy website registrations and suchlike. Gmail makes it easy to switch to and from them as required.

Re: How to stop system emails

I basically have that... I hadn't logged on for a long while and was greeted with over 10,000 emails, 90% from EF.
It's just 3 much.

Are you saying that EF is a dodgy website?

Might want to unsubscribe from threads. I think you automatically subscribe when you post.

It's an option in the same settings page. A new user doesn't have it set to automatically subscribe.

Re: How to stop system emails

If you're getting them by the thousand, it might be that your settings are for you to receive emails when a new post is added to your subscribed threads.

See the thread below

Stop notifications?

Edit: Though that's not the case for you. You must just be popular.
