Why the desperation ? There are stacks of Leprechauns around here. Your anonymity is assured. Oh. I have just seen that you signed your last post "Ronan". Ah. That is a dead giveaway.

I'm going to throw my hat in the ring. Someone's got a significant other and wants to deny things like this ever happened?

I don't think you have anything to be ashamed of bar being an occasionally active poster on EF.

Re: Deleting account, posts and threads

Mod hat on: As explained via PM, we do not routinely delete accounts or posts in this manner. You can make your profile a tad more anonymous, and you can also simply stop using the Forum. There's nothing overly harmful or weird in your posts.

Personal hat on: If someone who is in your life now has a problem with what you posted in the past, before you even met, it is 100% his or her problem. We all come with baggage and part of having a healthy relationship is being able to accept our partner's past. Please don't stress out about this.

Always take care what you post on the worldwide interweb, as it's always floating about in the ether, and it might one day come back and bite you on the arse ............. it's already too late for me, but if I can advise others .....

As for deleting accounts, I'll have to quote, yet again, the last line from Hotel California, before the big guitar solo.

You've already been told by email, by PM, and on here. As with anything you post on the interwebs, it's now a matter of history, and you can't change it.

If your intention is to get everyone on the forum to trawl through your old posts to see what you've said that was so bad, then you're going the right way about it.

Cos now not only are all your old posts, whatever they contain, still available for all to see, but now there's a distinct impression that you've something you'd rather leave hidden, so some curious folk may start looking to see what it was...

3WISHES i dont think that you are in a position to comment on my personal situation. And dont tell me not to stress out about it. Yes in your opinion there's nothing overly harmful or weird in my posts, but really I couldnt give a f**k what you think! Personally I am not comfortable with what I have posted in the past and i think I should have the right to remove the content.

There is something really wrong here, it seems that you 3wishes have the capabiltiy of removing my profile and all my posts but you will not do it. And I cannot see any reason why you would not remove it. Saying that you do not routinely remove content, to me indicates that you can remove it but you wont. Thanks for nothing!

Dude you are misunderstanding the situation (excuse my joke in the above post). They can not erase internet history. There are sites like waybackmachine that keep snapshots of the internet for one.
As for you having a right to remove the content, that is probably within the terms you agreed with on signing up to the forum.

Why can't you just create a different profile, forget this one ever existed, and use the other one? No one else needs to know who this disused Leprechaun2009 alias belonged to, or whether the posts made under said internet identity really reflected the opinions of whoever was behind it in real life.

Maybe there is someone in his life who has, or would have, a problem with his posts because it wasn't before they met?

OP, see how maybe it would have been better to let sleeping dogs lie.

Ok, saying that is not going to make any of us remove something you posted in the past without thinking (even if we did provide such service).

Is Ronan your real name, btw?

It's not just 3Wishes, as you well know, unless you've failed to read your emails. The 'routinely' part of our replies is to indicate that in exceptional circumstances it is possible to delete old posts, yes. Simply wanting to remove evidence of trying to chat up a couple of girls on an internet forum does not, in our opinion, qualify. And reporting your own old posts for harassment (which they were not) is not going to help either.

Note that now you've chosen to air your dirty laundry in public like this you're continuing to make things worse and worse for yourself. Previously it was only the few of us moderators who were aware of your desire to expunge your internet history - now the whole world knows about it. Just say the word and we can close this thread to avoid further replies if you want to.

Well that post is not really helping you is it?

You'd have been much better off just letting the account lie and completely forgetting about, you've brought yourself to everyone's attention now and all because of a few posts that are really neither interesting to your average EF reader nor in any way incriminating to you.

Seriously you just need to move on and forget all about it.
