darker forum theme?

am i the only one that puts on sunglasses when visiting EF?

it would be nice to have the option to switch to a forum theme that has a darker color scheme. or am i missing something?

Re: darker forum theme?

i did not know about that software so thanks for that.

it would still be relatively bright on EF though.

im not really worried about my day-night cycle being affected by light from my monitor, more just the strain to my eyes coming from darker colors to EF.

Re: darker forum theme?

Just to give you an idea.

Three seconds of work later, there was this. Darker. Not too shabby, but slighly less inviting, I will admit.

Re: darker forum theme?

yeah that is already a big improvement. no need to have white space there.

i could go with some darker shades of blue in the main part as well

Re: darker forum theme?

The problem, I think is not even the light colours, because the background does a lot already. It's the gradients that make it seem somewhat washed out. Sure, gradients were all the rage a few years ago (around XP, give or take) and then came fake glass look with Aero. Win8 and iOS 7 (the latter still having a lot of gradients, mind you) have a lot of strong colours again, in case of Win8, they're solids. So I tried to emulate that. Excuse the quality of the new Post Reply button, but it's the best I'm willing to do in a five minute timespan.

Re: darker forum theme?

I try to keep the theme of my posts as dark as possible - but I'm just humourless.
