| | Unwanted redirects to "Spritted" game website (an EF/AdSense ad bug)
Hi
Anyone know why when I login on a specific PC I get automatically redirected to a game site called spirited? I then go back with the browser and EF opens up normally.
Not sure why this is happening, is it a cache issue or could it be more sinister?
Cheers
Toby

I've had it too and not on EF. I'm going to run my virus checkers see if they find anything. I'm using IE 10 and don't log out unless I've cleared my cache which I did the other day.

To add to the report, I've also had the same issue, and from a work computer with pretty darn secure anti-virus, so I don't think it's a bug.
Additionally, the site has been incredibly slow to load the past couple of days, and just ate a long response too
Chrome also.

Running Chrome with AdBlock and Ghostery on my work Windows 7 computer - I haven't noticed any problems at all.

Login redirected to [removed]
I think it is this Google adsense bug/vulnerability. https://productforums.google.com/for...I/XRnh2uxAL0kJ

Reason: removed entire ad site after EB's clean-up

This does indeed seem to be coming either via Google AdSense or another third-party ad network.
I think it's benign, but running your browser with uBlock or similar will prevent it.
This is what the screen looks like on Android. We're working to get rid of it. | The following 6 users would like to thank for this useful post: | |

It still happens on my work PC, I am not sure why, I can't download any ad blocking software as I don't have Admin rights on this computer. Simple answer is to stop using EF, when I should be working |

S'wot I've done for many years now.
Also available for Chrome, but I refuse to use such bloatware if I possibly can...

Linked from a post in my thread relating to this issue: | Quote: | | | | | When I get the error message the URL is cdn.adspirit.de
Could this be related to some ad display? | | | | | Currently, when I click on anything in EF (while logged in), while loading, the fonts change from Verdana to Times New Roman. Clicking on anything then gets me an error message (404) linking the site meloncollie mentions.
Happened about 10 times in the last 15 minutes...

I've noticed the same today, from Chrome on Windows 7 and Safari on iOS 8.
I've also observed that when this issue happens:
* it's always when I first load the landing page from a new browser session
* the fonts appear slightly different - as in, I think the landing page is actually using a different font or different font size
* clicking any link makes it happen
* in testing just now, an anonymous (not logged in) session from IE did not trigger it, though I don't know if that's a one-off or not.

I've found a way around it (I hope):
The font and font size change with following redirection only happens when one accesses the main EF page. When logged in, searching for posts via "Forum" or "New Posts" rather than the main EF page keeps everything normal. Does anyone have similar experiences with this method?

My work around ...... I never log out of EF, therefore negating the requirement to log in, and all the adware nasties being imported from the peasant view of EF.
