Why on earth would somebody send an Email to say my thread had been retitled ( Unwanted redirects to "Spritted" game website (an EF/AdSense ad bug)) and post saying say that it was indeed a games site that was messing with browsers and that they were working on it? I don't see the why anyone would go to that trouble?

I guess after yesterday's incident the admin are taking a bit more of an interest in EF at the moment.
I had a couple too relating to the same thread.

I had a post deleted as well.
If you receive an automated message about a post being moved or edited, it is probably legit. Notice all the wordy text that usually comes in the automated messages, as well as the join date of the sender. If in doubt, report the PM to the mod team using the little red triangle. |

As with all narcissistic persons, ignorance is the best answer. No public = not worth the show.

The fact that my wife and I have been subject to an ip ban out of the blue suggests that nobody in authority here actually has any idea who is responsible, despite repeated claims to the contrary.

Good job there's such a thing as mobile data, isn't it? | | | | | The way I understand it is ... IP blocking (when someone bans a user) only worked for non-Swiss IP addresses. I was then told even that feature was disabled and no IP addresses were banned at all.
That would imply something has gone very screwy, or an admin (not a mod, they lost admin rights ages ago) manually banned your IP address.

Good job there's such a thing as mobile data, isn't it? | | | | | It'll be as a result of an OTBC - spam deps were encouraged to do this to minimise any impact, so apologies for those accidentally affected.
If you could use the contact page or just email to englishforum.ch@gmail.com with the IP affected, one of the mods will ask for it to be removed from the blocked list.

Just to clear any misconceptions up regarding the other place.
Passwords weren't changed. They were reset automatically when fixing some bugs after the hack attack last year.
It's not been attacked just now. Just some maintenance because of a bug which is going to take longer than it should. I'm sure the 7 members or so that post there won't mind some down time | This user would like to thank porsch1909 for this useful post: | |
