I remember sarsaparilla but I didn't like it much. I only drank the lemonade or orange crush but my brother drank all the other weird stuff. | | | | | Are you allowed to say bad things about root beer on this purring kitten thread?

I really miss a good rootbeer
It's like a fuzzy hug from the inside
But I do realize that it is a North American taste--I haven't met a European who can appreciate it's subtler notes :P
That being said, I have never caught the appeal of Rivella---I always felt the Swiss drink it and like it solely because it is Swiss.

That doesn't mean it is bad.
Vimto is great!

Now that being said, no all rootbeers are created equal. Some cheaper brands are very syrupy and cough mediciney. Drinking it flat or warm is also a no go.
It should be a smooth malty flavor with a crisp fresh after taste.

Subtle notes? In rootbeer?
It's like licking pharmacy shelves, ugh.
I don't mix different types of pop, either.
Warm fuzziness here is good. Practice..it's going well. Noobs will be happy. I wouldn't over do it, though, there's fine line between warm fuziness and creepy.

If I'd known this thread was just a secret place for cliquey forum legends to hang out in I'd've read it ages ago.
Why don't the shops open on Sundays? I want to get away from the church bells which are too loud.

As someone pointed out on another thread (Grumpy`s?) the British have a warped sense of humor - they are only rude when they feel comfortable with someone - much I suppose like we are rude to our family members but polite to strangers? Normal people don`t understand British humor.
So, for this thread to be serious - the British need to not use any of their humor here.
I am not British, I am English South African - our humor is more coarse. We also do not understand British humor, unless forced on us thru sibling marriages, we learn to just shake our heads and ignore.
