Rating a Thread

Do you ever rate a thread? Is there any significance or impact to rating a thread?

I think I've rated a thread four times in my EF life and have never really noticed how threads are rated by others.

Thoughts?

PS: You'll find the option to rate a thread on the top right hand corner of this post, above the Join Date.

Re: Rating a Thread

I did it a few times, to see if anything happened. I like clicking on buttons, what can I say.

I didn't see any difference in my life, apart from two seconds of fun, so I've never done it again.

Re: Rating a Thread

Yes have Rated Threads from time to time.

Usually when I think it a helpful / useful thread.

Perhaps once when I thought it was bloody awful gave a low rating, i.e. Bad or Terrible

Where can you see the results of the ratings?

Edit: I see stars! Thanks for rating.

It's rare I rate a thread, but this deserves 1*.

Re: Rating a Thread

If it would be a single action I might do it very rarely, the rating system looks like a mod which was written and implemented 10 years ago just to create another button to get the by then so desired bloated look.

Re: Rating a Thread

I've noticed spammers and Marketplace sellers tend to rate their own threads with 5 stars. I (almost) never bother to rate. The content of a thread matters more to me than some pretty stars at the top. But to make you feel good I'll give you some stars for this one.

LOL! I felt exactly the same way ... Added 2 more seconds to quote your thread and 20 seconds two write the reply. Nothing has happened again.

Dissspointed decided it's about time to have brunch!

But something has happened: you quoted me. That made me smile. I like to be quoted. I feel important. So I smiled.

Those 22 seconds produced a smile. And that, my friend, is something

You are right. I was just denying the truth.

P.S. Couldn't admit it and said it loud on public forum.

Re: Rating a Thread

the ratings definitely make sense. if you have collected sufficient stars with your threads, you get access to the star section which is really the nicest part of this forum.

it is a bit like the spam deputies but a more much exclusive group.

Re: Rating a Thread

Funny this comes up now, I only just noticed that rating possibility yesterday (while looking for something else). Seems you already got 4 stars for yours

Question is: What are you rating. The subject? The thread process? Because one could rate the thread as good ..... then it goes downhill and you can't retract. To make this really good, there should be plus and minus stars and the result should be seen in a curve. This way it would be visible when it went up or down.

Now that I know it's possible, I might (rate). If I would, I'd judge the subject (which is not gonna change no matter what people make of it) as being either valuable or good fun.
