Wow, this is turning into a real life mystery. Rather exciting.

Roegner, when did you change from moderately Dutch to Moderately Saddened? And sorry, but your your cat is giving me the evil eye.

And not to mention Omtatsat, who as it suddenly turns out, is in a highly honorable profession.
For a moment I thought you were going to say " is a highly honorable person"

Nope, the hacker definitely not Omtatstat if the premise is “change of behavior”

Don't they fail kind of obviously if hacking is tried while you're already logged in?

Can I log on EF from different computers and chat away - like having an entire family on one EF-account(and have them rip each other apart on certain threads? That could be amusing, though everybody would think the member has gone bisurk and talking to themselves.

Yep, same here - 5 more failed login attempts since 15:48.
No idea what they expect to find, even if they were to access my bank account

I was logged-in during this period - I’m usually not. Ah hah (is their a light-bulb emoji?). The messages started as soon as I was logged-in.

Anyway, not bothered as only use EF with a VPN.

Well, you're all computer literate, I would not have a clue if someone hacked me, even less what to do about it. Should we be worried and are there certain measures (explained simply for dummies!) we should be taking?

General rules for any website:
1. Don't use the same password on more than one site
2. Make complex passwords that are easy to remember but hard to guess. It's amazing how many people use the word "password" or some variation as a password.

You receive an email to the email address you use for EF every time somebody tries to access your account.

As long as you have a secure password you should be ok.

Just make your password strong enough. Get an account with LastPass or Keypass, generate a strong password and that tool will remember it for you.

IP address is your own personal address on the internet, or where you are when you log-in. You’ll get it from the socket where the router that connects you to the internet when connecting to a web-site like EF is plugged-in, as it’s usually labeled. You can also see your IP address through the settings of your PC, but how varies. I use an Apple MAC, and can look it-up easily, but have no-idea about other types of PC.

A good deterrent is to use a VPN, which makes your IP address invisible. I use Express VPN, and have to admit that it’s great (no, I have no interests in the company).

https://www.expressvpn.com/

As well, use secure passwords (that you can still remember!). And always log-out of banking apps when finished.
