I actually kill all cookies every 30 minutes and use uBlock so I think I am OK. Are you.............?

Re: Blacklight privacy scanner - EF score badly

I picked a random, equally-ancient vBulletin forum for comparison:
https://themarkup.org/blacklight?url=welovecss.com

It is not vBulletin that's the issue here.

It's much more about monetization of user data than the age of the software.

there's something running behind that detects words like microsoft and inserts a link automatically. the ads on the right should contribute a lot too.

As Parker just mentioned, it's about monetization (all the necessary tracking devices to place personalized advertising on the site).

Ads? Don't people use adblock + ghostery? Never seen an ad on EF...

I suppose they could introduce ad-blocker blockers. I don't recommend it though, since there's nothing here that people can't get elsewhere.

There are very few sites that do so - I haven't found a single site that makes me want to turn off my adblocker... they just frustrate enough to annoy the admins with lengthy SARs and then request a deletion of all my personal data...

Re: Blacklight privacy scanner - EF score badly

EF is so bad, it's one of the sites where I disable javascript completely.
