reactivate account history

Hi,

I have recently been advised by admin to create a new account as my old one did not seem to be found anymore.

I am now basically starting from scratch with the forum and do not have much rights i.e. cannot post in Market place ...

Has anyone faced similar issues? Is there any to "resume" with the level of rights I used to have?

Thank you!

Sorry, but as you were unable to give us a username or email address that was associated with an old account, there's no history to restore. If you could have remembered either of those things then we would have been able to reactivate the old account.

And no, I'm afraid that we can't just give you the additional rights based on your say-so. The 'sticky' posts in all the Marketplace areas explain all you need to know about how to qualify to post there and why the requirements are there.

Re: reactivate account history

Hi, the new account I created was with the same username and email. The only difference is that previous username was staring with "j" and current one starts with "J" -> Jorgeu.

I actually sent email to team@englishforum.ch about 1 week ago with attachments of previous notifications to my previous username.

Does this help to restore history?

Thank you

Yes, I know. Both Editor Bob and myself replied more than once that there was no user account of that name or using that email address.

The single text file attachment about resetting your password could have been generated before the account was properly validated, and unless you confirmed it by email the account would never have actually been validated, so would later have been purged from the system. Clearly there would have been no history associated with it anyway.

I'm sorry, but there's nothing more that we can do.

Re: reactivate account history

A sharpeyed member (thanksm aSwissintheUS) has managed to find some posts with jorgeu as signature text within them, and a couple of references seem to confirm that this was indeed the name of the account at that time.

The post authors are marked as 'guest', which means that the account was completely deleted at some point. ISTR that EditorBob did a purge of some old accounts at one point, so assuming this wasn't done at your request, I think we just have to presume that this was one of them.

Anyway, we can't restore the history, but in light of this we can perhaps reinstate your Marketplace rights. Please note, though, that you'll still be expected to contribute to ongoing threads as well, as this is a condition of the marketplace posting rules.
