Wasn't it JackieH who said just the other day that she had once created a new account here after no longer wanting to use her old account, which had her real name attached to it (or something)?
The original name was self deleted although comes up as the originator of the gardening thread.

Re: Mod coup

I think it's also that some people just don't want to waste so much time on here... or don't care to. I've noticed that many of the regular members here have been so for years (myself included, on and off). And if you don't use this place often, it becomes very easy to NOT use it. It's just not something you often think about.

Also, you can't really blame someone for not wanting to be part of a place that is full of so much constant bickering, occasional bullying, etc. Not that I'm implying that that's ALL that goes on here, but there is quite a bit of it.

Oops, sorry. I just realized that I had forgotten to quote Sean Connery's post before posting this. I really need that nap.

quoted in case you have him on ignore. He does appear to have a point (that I am sure can be explained).

but it is somewhat true, though, that people for over a decade have avoided EF because you largely have needed a thick skin to co-exist with some members........

coincidentally that is about the length of time i was out of this country. bring back the good times i say... (and the free beer!)

Yes, though names may change or be deleted it seems that part of the underlying functionality of vbulletin still retains the (original) name of the thread starter, even though the post author is not retained.

(Incidentally, this wouldn't fall foul of GDPR, given the the thread author name is no longer associated with any sort of account information, i.e. no data is held about an individual).

What I love about snowflakes is that they're such a perfect (and beautiful) example of the underlying, emergent symmetry in nature. In their case, six-fold radial symmetry. This is a snowflake under a microscope...

The crystal lattice. There is so much fascinating beauty in nature if you look closely.

(Sorry, I know this is off subject... I need a nap).
Every snowflake is different, an individual, so when people use that as a description it means the opposite of what they think it means.
