We are in around a 20 hour game play now - nothing major, update is happening next week though.
I was referring to Cyberpunk. But for a Ubisoft game, Valhalla is running quite smoothly We just arrived in Lunden, I like the design of it, has some sort of oldschool AC vibe.

haha, quite true! ubisoft ain't no blizzard! Btw I still get sentimental from time to time and open up StarCraft Broodwar and get amazed at how well done it was and still get drawn into the game. The Koreans never stopped playing it and they still make fun of my early Zerg rush

Ok, Iíll do this every five pages of posts as I canít be arsed to read them all: do we know what happened yet?

P.S: How can you derail a discussion from group sex to ubisoft games? The last good game from them was the lapins cretins series of their paris studio like a decade ago. And the best part was the soundtrack. (a nod to our Eastern European EF members)

The "what" has already been inferred ages ago, but we've still had no word from EB about the "why".

Well, with a little smile, one could twist this to be back on topic...

Re: Mod coup?

I always really liked the 'lapins cretins', they are awesome.

We haven't heard the why but we had the concerned member who got permabanned actually show up here and explain, right after the situation got rectified by Local and Tony was allowed to access EF, again. To me that is pretty explanatory, if that's all we ever get as info.

In respect to last night behavior - can we have the forum without insults? Opinions are ok, calling people names no matter what shape they are in, isn't ok.

No matter what shape [one presumes that] the other person may be in, and no matter how frazzled one's own nerves may be, or how highflying one's wit, please, no insults. They're easy to avoid, for anybody. Just move away from the keyboard and do something else until the impulse to lash out has passed.

MusicChick, thank you! This is, I think, the first time that you and I are posting the same message, and in this I 100% wholeheartedly agree you. Yes! You're completely right in this. Thank you for this post.

Can people drop the passive-aggressive posting too?

Even little kids can easily call other people names without any malice so, in my opinion, it takes a far more vindictive person to p1ss off so many people on a forum with their carefully (or not so much) passive-aggressive posting.

I've realised that my post is passive-aggressive in itself so as to remove the chance that people see it as such with any vaguarity, I'll just say it's you "MusicChick" who I am addressing with this. Clear?

Well, if so, can I please ask again, for a 3rd time, the post in which I was called and I am still called, "this makes you a seriously shit" person to be removed? Thank you

I know 22 Yards couldn't care less, but I keep on tryin'

Sure, if it means so much to you I'll edit it out. But what you gain from having it removed now I don't know.

By the way, when reporting posts it really doesn't help to misquote what you see as the insult. Being a sh1t boss, which was what was written, isn't the same as being a sh1t person.

Part of the problem of 'bullying, aggressive' posts is when they evoke such a strong reaction. They make you angry, the poster is happy to have succeeded. Trying not to react is every bit as important as trying to resist insulting behaviour in the first place.

As for the "for a 3rd time" , please remember that the mods were all unable to do anything for quite some time, so quite a few reported posts were not acted on. Generally it's more important to act on "current" content that stuff from a few days ago, so we (I, certainly) didn't consider it a priority to trawl back over several days of reports once it became apparent that we'd got our powers back.

Re: Mod coup?

"Passive aggressive" is one of those fairly recent terms that people bandy about
a lot the last few decades. Unfortunately, there is a fair amount of interpretation, world view and one's own personality that goes into labeling someone's statements as such.
In a multicultural situation (or website), it is pretty easy to interpret/misinterpret differing styles of communication. As an Anglo, just about all Germanic communication sounds (to me) quite aggressive, both in speech and when written. Dutch people love to say, "I'm Dutch so I am direct." It goes on and on.
So you don't appreciate her communication style. Scroll on by... "But she is a Mod and shouldn't act that way" you say. Well, I think a few of the Mods are Grade A Arses... But I don't really want them removed. It's a thankless job and do you really think that EF will improve if 1 or more Mods are removed? We will still go back to the same arguments. If you haven't noticed, the West is involved in a culture war that is reflected here every day.
I'll be spending my 16th Christmas in CH (though I no longer live in CH) and it is probably the 14th year that I have written a similar post. Stay healthy and sane!

In the context of what he wrote in his original post calling him a shit boss wasn’t really an unreasonable response.
If he had been clearer in his initial post he wouldn’t have elicited such a reaction.

As I have said many times, it’s not what you say but how you say it and that post could definitely have been worded better.

Ace1 - you BANNED me for saying to someone else QUOTE "let me dumb it down for you" as it was an offensive post

Yet, you not only not ban, but not even edit when someone calls me "this makes you a serious shit..."whatever

This is precisely why you and 22 Yards are part of the huge problem in this forum with people attacking each other - you let it go for your friends, but are extremely heavy-handed when it's someone whose not among your friends. You'll clearly never liked me, fine with me, but at least try to show some sort of objectivity.

What makes you think I've done nothing about your requests? And why do you think I, specifically, should be the one mod to act on your behalf?

Actually, as you seem determined to bring it up for comparison, the post in which you wrote "I know that multi-dimensional thinking is not your strength, so I'll try to dumb it down to a single-dimensional one. " was made nearly two weeks after your last short time-out had finished. It was deleted, yes, and I think most people would agree with the reason - that it was a personal attack - but it didn't lead to you getting banned.

Relatively, I would still judge, even in isolation, that your post was much more of an insult than the one you're complaining about here. But it didn't get you banned.

Yes, I do.

It has been done in the past when mods have been particularly problematic.

But I don't think they should be removed.

I think they should resign.

They can remain on the forum and post and be treated like everyone else.

Of course, one does wonder about the motives some people have for being moderators. Surely for many it's a way of giving back to the community, for others it's a pastime and I'm sure, for others, it's a compensating power-trip.

You still believing that this:
Quote:
"I know that multi-dimensional thinking is not your strength, so I'll try to dumb it down to a single-dimensional one. "
is more offensive than this

"this makes you a serious shit"

is precisely the reason why I believe you are not objective, have never been and clearly will never be.

Yes, it did. I had a "banned" when trying to log-in.
