Extra Line Breaks in Posts

Can anyone tell me why, when I enter a line break to create a new paragraph, when the thread is posted I see 2,3 and sometimes even 4, line breaks?? I then have to go and edit them out.

Anyone else notice this? Happens with both Chrome and Firefox.

Re: Extra Line Breaks in Posts

The only comparable 'feature' I've noticed is when you have a quote or image and the software inserts a line break before and/or after the tags, so if you've already put a break in it leaves two. Never seen it in plain text.

But I notice that you have the 'advanced' WYSIWYG editor selected as default, and there are other known issues with it https://www.englishforum.ch/forum-su...-problems.html so you might try selecting the standard editor instead to see if that resolves it.

Just changed it to the standard and it seems to work fine now - no extra line breaks. Till now I've never looked at all those extra options and just used the default settings.

Many thanks for the advice.

Yes!

It happens to me too. On both tablet and pcs. But not consistently.

Kind regards

Same here. It's annoying.

The other issue I encounter intermittently is when I go to edit a post and the edit box is completely empty - anyone else had that?

Can I suggest you both read my earlier post, just three posts up from here, and the thread to which it links? You both have the "Enhanced (WYSIWYG) Editor" selected so I'm pretty confident that's the culprit.

Err, yes. As discussed in the other thread.

Sorry, found it now. Had rather a lot of RL going on recently so I'm a bit out of the loop.
