| | Re: Thoughts on changing the "Complaints Corner" to also include positive experiences | Quote: | | | | | I was wondering if what people thought on making the "Complaints Corner" a place where we can also give good feedback and shout-outs to stores or businesses or services to help steer people towards good stuff.
Sure, it's useful to read negative feedback about business and services etc and I wouldn't want to change that, but it would also be cool if the section allowed some positive recommendations too. | | | | | TBH I'm unlikely to care or be swayed by positive reviews since I expect that. Retailers are having to become increasingly competitive and customer focused in order to survive. That may have not been the case 10 years ago when they had their cosy little monopolies, but it seems that way now.
What does interest me are the negative reviews and more importantly how they were handled. So if emails aren't being answered, staff are abusive and rude or refunds take months to arrive then I'm not touching that with a barge poll, no matter how many positive reviews they have.

| | Re: Thoughts on changing the "Complaints Corner" to also include positive experiences | Quote: | | | | | Coming from reddit for berlin and germany, I actually find this forum very nice, cozy and friendly place, believe it or not | | | | | TBH I think it's pretty nice compared with almost any other forum/discussion group I've used over the last 30 years. Yes, sometimes a few users get out of hand, but we try to act, when our hands are not tied, to stop it. Conversely, a few users, particularly new or very occasional users, can be over-sensitive to criticism, but then some of them throw a hissy-fit and get aggressive to other users.
There's no easy-win, and we're (the mod team, that is) often criticised for too little or too much intervention, but I think the fact that we're attacked from both sides shows that we must be managing to generally keep on treading a middle line, as it were.
