| | Thoughts on changing the "Complaints Corner" to also include positive experiences?
I was wondering if what people thought on making the "Complaints Corner" a place where we can also give good feedback and shout-outs to stores or businesses or services to help steer people towards good stuff.
Sure, it's useful to read negative feedback about business and services etc and I wouldn't want to change that, but it would also be cool if the section allowed some positive recommendations too.
It could be called something like:
"Complaints and Compliments Corner"
"Rants and Raves"
Something like that where it's not all negative and we can balance it with good feedback for things? | The following 3 users would like to thank Chuff for this useful post:

I second that wholeheartedly, but wouldn't it be nice, before one needs a sub-forum for this, people would learn to say thank you in real life?
Regardless if it is on a post here or face to face..................(am in crabby mood, sorry)

Personally, I would complain if someone were to do that.

The trouble with positive threads on EF is, they are the quickest to derail. | The following 2 users would like to thank curley for this useful post:

EF used to be such a friendly place, like a family. Paul from the local even paid for our drinks.

EF needs to feel the community spirit, this is so true. I cannot forsee any EF vax passport but I hope to be able to meet&greet again, when possible.
I hope to be able to get best CZ rum knock-off. Eastenders, I'll try your G&T, you can have the rum sans hot milk! | This user would like to thank MusicChick for this useful post:

I think there are lots of positive things in other threads, and if you need a specific one you can always share your good experience in this existing one https://www.englishforum.ch/daily-li...ecause-95.html or just start a new thread in the appropriate place.
Don't see why you'd want to mix them up like that, nor really why anyone would want a specific sub-forum for it, TBH.

One concern with a recommendations subform is that I fear we'd see a resurgence of spam and sock-puppetry.

Sometimes easier to spot than others and I'm sure that some of the ones I delete are not from business owners themselves, just happy customers, but when they join and immediately post a recommendation on an old thread, for example, we generally don't let them through.
Having a specific area for that very purpose would make it almost impossible to spot the genuine from the sock-puppets, although I suppose putting in the marketplace to limit it in the same way as other advertising might help... but yes, I suspect the genuine good experience posts could quickly be overwhelmed by fake ones if we were to encourage this sort of thing.

EF used to be such a friendly place, like a family. Paul from the local even paid for our drinks. | | | | | It's all about the people currently here and what they're doing, as some group comes or goes, vibe changes.
Or in short - be the change you want to see in the forum
