I guess theoretically the company is enabling the good writers get a bit of the twitter's cash. Except it's the readers who pay. Writers will obsess even more, plagiarism will blossom like crazy. Reddit will do it, too, I bet.

And people will pay because they will like that feeling of control, without realizing Twitter is pre-filtering who will be seen as worthy of their cash.
