Re: Steps for reporting abusive rep messages

The only red blobs (including insults) I have ever received are from one person who on here publically takes the moral highgrounds and praises the civility of the new forum.

Hypocrits.

Why pluralised if it is just one user?

You should report the abuse though, mods probably don't have time to check through all reputation messages looking for offence. Any more.

Royal they? Royal we? You were doing it to yourself? How terribly confusing.

Re: Steps for reporting abusive rep messages

Abuse, insults, and name-calling are absolutely not tolerated whether that be in the posts or the reputation points.

You may certainly report to the mod team any offensive wording.

We really care to keep EF a kind, considerate, and informative forum with a pleasant atmosphere.

I don't mind some spicy words or the occasional remark that some could feel is offensive. And I certainly won't report it.

I do mind hypocrits who pretend they are so much above the petty offensive trolling etc. - but then throw insults in private.

Sorry, I disagree. It might be fun to read or cathartic for someone to vent, but the end result is that it promotes the negative feedback loop.

You clearly do mind, as you brought it to everyone's attention.

Either resolve it or drop it, I would suggest.

You clearly have now brought it to mod attention, so I am sure they will go check for you, congratz.

Why not?
The more mature solution is to add that person on your ignore list, this way you'll never see any private messages from them.

Negative feedback loops are far more stable than positive feedback loops.

I'd like to confirm - the only red blobs (until now) I've received are, in all likelyhood, by one person who, IMHO rides quite a high horse - very erratically
