Rep power

So my rep power is 0... I recalled I had at least one point. It doesn't really matter other than my rep is grey and feels weird to not color code it. Can anyone tell me what happened? /what are the conditions to rep power?

I can see 4 green dots in your profile.

4 greens means that more people have given you green dots than red dots.

Cant remember the exact setting but could go look for you if you want?

Nah it's fine. I'll Google it. Just thought it odd. I've been grey repping. Grey rep feels passive aggressive if you don't text though
Thanks for the greenies sent to me today

Edit: min post count of 50 I guess that would be the closest condition that might have been lost

There's a pull-down menu - you can either choose to remove, or add from one-to-five rep points, or leave it as zero (grey).

No idea then.

I'm not sure what the algorithm is. Perhaps you need a larger overall post count or something like that?

The first minimum threshold on some forums seems to be 50.

Can you guys say generic statements I can reply to so I can pad my count?

Preferably waste my resources, I beg of you

Re: Rep power

Out of curiosity, if a Mod gives a negative rep and say -7 whatever points get deducted. Then a few hours later another -20 or -30 points get deducted even though no additional negative rep was received.

- Is that a forum glitch?
or
- Is that a power move from the Mod?

The above does not apply to any of the current mods nor did I care about the actual points, I did care about the mindset of that particular Mod though!

From a technical perspective: mods can use the same amount of rep points as everyone else can use. If you have seen a sudden high in/decrease of your points, Id report that as that does not seem to be normal.

Feel free to send me a pm?

@ roegner- This happened many months ago. I don't really care about the lost points, so no worries. Thanks for the answer

If a mod reps you, you should see the comments as normal (unless the post has been deleted).

In theory, a mod could edit an existing neg rep to change it to -70, for example, to make it hard to notice.

I've looked at your profile, and it doesn't look as though there's been any shenanigans.

E.T.A - A mod can directly change rep totals too. We wouldn't be able to tell if that had happened.

Re: Rep power

On my profile, I can see whether I've thanked or groaned anyone, or have been thanked or groaned at, and can click to get to that post. Is there an equivalent way to look back and my own rep-giving history, to see whether I've given someone rep, and if so how much and any comment I wrote, then? Or rep I've received?

This was important to me when I inadvertently clicked on "groan" instead of "thanks", and was able to go back and correct it. If I were to make a similar error with red instead of green blobbies, I'd like to be able to see that, so I can fix it.

'Fraid not.

If you wanted to double check, a friendly mod might help. Or you could wait for the "WTF, dude!" PM from the recipient.

My personal belief is that as a mod I have no business rooting around in rep points or comments, unless reported as abusive. Even then, I do not mess with points.

The default is to give positive rep. You have to change the box that is ticked from positive to negative when you take the action. Given that basic feature of the software, the odds of you (Doropfiz) ever having given negative rep have got to be near zero.

Groans on the other hand, those are very easy to accidentally click when scrolling, particularly when on a mobile phone.
