In Jackie’s post you and me are the object of the sentence so the object pronouns are be used which for the first person singular is me.
Mods are entitled to groan just like you and me.
Mods are the subject and you and me and the objects.
She could have said :
You and I are entitled to groan just like mods
In which case I is correct as it is the subject of the sentence and the subject pronoun should be used.
Edit to further qualify:
If you replace mods with a pronoun it would be
You and I are entitled to groan just like them
And not
You and I are entitled to groan just like they.

That is probably exactly what happened as I was scrolling through the thread this morning.
It happens to me often when using the iPad.
I normally go back and remove them if I spot them or somebody points them out and would have done so with this one if I’d spotted it but I don’t think I’ll bother now.
After checking I see it wasn’t the only accidental groan I made this morning, I’ve removed that one now but since Biro is so attached to his I’ll leave it for him.
Coming from somebody who is rather liberal with his groans often totally unnecessarily I find this thread laughable. | | | | | Gee. My finger must have slipped.
