How do I thank for a useful post?

I see boxes on the forums like:

"This following $N users would like to thank $USER for this useful post:"

But I haven't found the button to thank for a post. Is that because I'm new or because I'm blind?

You have to have posted 10 times before you can thank anyone

Re: How do I thank for a useful post?

In addition to your 10 posts to be able to 'thank' people, there are two other things:
1. You can't "thank" in posts that are under the General Off Topic section
2. Old threads - if you read old threads you will see that some people have thanked, but the button is missing. Any new posts added to the thread can be thanked.

You'll figure it out !!!

When you click on 'Quick Reply' you should have two buttons at the bottom of the window:
- Post Quick Reply
- Go Advanced

The second one will give you access to emoticons. Just click on one and the system will add it to the post wherever your cursor currently is

If that does not work (as in my case ) just use the 'Quote' button which will directly lead you to the advanced option. You can still delete the quoted message

Why the first option does not work is a mystery to me . Maybe an Admin has an aswer to that?

Does that help?

Cheers
Andy

Just below the last post in every thread, on the left of your screen, you will see the "Post Reply" button (see image below). That's the best way to post if you don't want to quote an earlier post. You'll get all the "Advanced" features, too.

Generally, most questions of this sort are answered in the following short thread: Anatomy of a post: all those buttons and links, explained
