Maaaaannnnnn....i'm getting robbed. just made 'senior member' and now it is back to a lowly 'member'.

I guess once i hit SM it stuck even though some posts were deleted...I assume it was the Iranian 419-er posts.

(EDIT: ouch...now i am back down to junior because of the adjustment...a conspiracy by the man to keep me down...for sure...)

Newbie titles: how about 'Junior Newbie' and 'Senior Newbie'? it is consistant with member title modifiers...and '1st class' just sounds to military like for my tastes.

Well since you are on 99 posts you'll get a promotion after you reply

Open to changing the Newbie 1st class thing - but Junior Newbie and Senior Newbie doesn't really do it for me - how can you be a Senior Newbie?

I would be deeply honoured to have a membership level, even such a lowly one, named after me.

Re: New membership level descriptions?

Ok - it's complete. Still to be decided is "Newbie 1st class" - still waiting for some sensible suggestions on that one.

Now the next thing up for discussion is additional ranks. These could be tiny little icons that appear next to the star ranking which might designate anything from "Single" to "Expert". If it were a group like single then I'd probably put someone in charge of administering that group, and if it were something like "Expert" then we'd only give this out to members who have always given good advice in the past. Open to other suggestions on this one - obviously I don't want to go overboard with these custom ranks - but I think they could be useful.

Well, no - but there is room for that under the "Biography" section of your profile...

looks about 25 characters which seems to be the limit (to the UI for me, at least)

Desperately Seeking Susan, or in fact any willing woman

Damn, over 25 again :unfair:

Desperado with Lime - found in France on Saturday. Drunk on, erm, Saturday. The fridge I put in my car is very effective

Ok, well now is the time to finally do something about it.

I have the following proposal.

0-9 posts - Newbie
10-29 posts - Newbie 1st class
30-100 posts - Junior Member
101-250 posts - Member
251-500 posts - Senior Member
501-2500 posts - Forum Groupie
2501+ posts - Forum Legend

There would be a set of little stars (or something) to indicate the rank ranging from 0 to 6 stars for the above ranks.

People with over 500 posts could also use a custom title if they wanted.

Remember that posts in off-topic do not count towards these totals.

Of course I'm open to sensible suggestions to change the titles... Will implement this very soon.
Lob like you haven't got enough to do any chance of actioning this in red?

+ Bring back the Forum Groupie

I laughed at that one too. Great to laugh at a post made before I joined the Forum, but one that I can fully appreciate.
