-15..........4 red............ is considered a nuisance

-5............2 red............ has become a little unpopular
-2............1 red............ has slipped a little

2.............1 green......... has made some interesting contributions
5.............2 green......... has earned some respect

20...........4 green......... has earned the respect of many
30...........5 green......... has an excellent reputation
50...........6 green......... has a reputation beyond repute (whatever that means)
22, I'm afraid that's an old list. There was a change of the rep rating system in early 2010 or so. Now you have to have 30 green points for the 4th green blobbie, 100 for the fifth and 200 for the sixth. On the other side of the scale, if I'm not mistaken, 30 red points give you the forth red blobbie.

As for stars and green blobbies -- sorry, no, they don't run together. The stars are a graphic representation of the membership status. For instance, McGregor's Daughter (see her post higher up) has for greenies but five stars because she has less than 100 green rep points but she is a Forum Veteran, i.e. she posted more than 499 posts.

and why does 22 yards have all those nice green blobbies, but no stars showing?
That's just coz they don't fit, making space for a mod title, so people know who to address if they need something.
Quote:
And why do some folk have a big green blob beside their user name and some have blue?
The light up green dot next to the user name indicates the user is online. If it stays "switched off", it either means they are offline, or, they decided to set up their account to they are always invisible, usually for privacy reasons.

Quote:
And how did I get my blobbies?
Because you post so nicely..
People decided to give you rep points for some post they liked, you can also give rep points by clicking on the upper right hand corner icon of scale (you can give neg rep, or likey rep) and explain what you either appreciate or dislike about that particular post. The number of points dished out to folks is limited per day, and, you can't red blob/green blob one person many times in row, you have to distribute the rep evenly.

As said before, you can check who gave you rep and for what posts on your control panel (upper middle section, right under your clickable user name).

Re: Little coloured squares

Oops, the Cap'n is correct ... on the gold stars front. The stars run in parallel with the status. I typed without thinking. But they're still redundant, as the status level (Forum Veteran, Forum Legend, etc.) is also shown.

But on the rep points/blobbies issue, no, I am correct. This is definitely the current situation for rep, lifted straight from EF's Admin CP.

ETA:

OK, I'm going to take that last comment back as well! I just checked the rep score of a user with 4 green blobbies and he has ... 99 points! So how come the Admin CP has the wrong information? Weird ... So, scrub all previous posts of mine in this thread.

I'm a moderator, so I don't get pretty gold stars. The warm inner glow I get from doing my job is sufficient for me.
This is because you are OUR star!

Sorry I am not good at kiss ass-ing.

I assumed Nil was talking about some weird French kissing ritual involving ass*. Sounded kinda interesting.
