Post counts frozen

I have noticed for the last week or so that post counts don't seem to be moving. I have been sitting on 247 posts for quite a while, even after adding new posts. Other people seem to be sitting on the same number of posts too.

I did a search and didn't find any reference to this problem. Has it been noticed and in the process of being dealt with?

Hey, what happened? I suddenly went to 248. Must be fixed then.

Will I get credited back those posts that were never counted or should I just keep posting here till I reach the magic 250 and become a "senior member"?

I'd hazard a guess that

only you are looking and worried about this
the vBulletin software maybe only updates post counts periodically
someone has been deleting some of your posts (why, I would not know )
there's a problem somewhere on the Internet

And look at Canadian Dude, he is posting in Day Trips/Travel and the post count on every one of his posts is 1258.

(I can assure you I do not stalk CD. This was purely for illustrative purposes.)

Your post count on every one of your posts is 255.... It doesn't matter when you make a post, your post count will always show your current post count not counting off topic posts.

Thats because post count is 'total numbe of posts', not the post no.

yes but the software is automatically assessing the value of posts and adds "1" where it deems value has been added.

It's a vBulletin add-in called "WTFBBQ".

So be careful to add value otherwise "1" will not be "added"

Oh, I see!

Post count (like everything else in that darker-blue section of your post) is connected to your profile, not to the individual post. For instance, if you go back and look at your first post ever - it won't say 1, it'll say 255.

That's a plugin called Etaoin Shrdlu. Not all forums have it as it requires a manual input server:

Thank you very much for posting that photo. In that context, of course, etaoin shrdlu really makes sense. Never saw that explained in such a comprehensive manner.
