I've found the cause of the problem. I have just disabled AdBlock and all videos are now showing. I guess I need to find the right exceptions thingy for You Tube...

Hmm .. I never had to tweak my AdBlock Plus ( ABP ) and YT videos still work on default settings.
In the event it is not ABP, it might have something to do with your Flash Player security settings / configuration: https://www.macromedia.com/support/d...03.html#117498

Does anyone know why some YT vids play on the iPad2 and others don't?
I uploaded something earlier and there's no problem on the iMac, but I can't click that particular one now on the iPad (Safari) or iPhone (Aquari & Tapatalk)
Are there any settings that need to be adjusted?

I posted a link to a You Tube video today. As they sometimes have problems, I checked preview post first. It only showed the URL rather than the video.
I noticed that the URL started https rather than the usual http. I edited the URL and it loaded normally. Is there any way for the You Tube link to accept https?

This should start at 1m54s http://www.reelseo.com/youtube-deep-linking/

Well like your mod it does, but with embbeded it doesn't | | | | | As I found during the test. If embedded I just got a white box. The link just starts from the beginning. It seems there must be a way.

I've played around and I think it only works when you put the start time in in seconds. So you can't put 1m54s, you have to put 114.
Example:
| The following 2 users would like to thank i_like_turtles for this useful post: | |

You Tube videos do get repeated from time to time in threads. With the size of some of the threads it is not surprising. It is more frustrating when people post ones that were posted in the last few days.
To help reduce the problem, would it be possible to prevent You Tubes being uploaded without some accompanying text? This should be the title of the You Tube or Artist/Track as appropriate. This would make it easier for people to search to see if it had previously been posted. Otherwise, it is a case of having to scroll through a long thread. Something most people would not do.
It would also mean that people could quote a post without having to repeat the You Tube again.
