Anyone interested in Learning Chinese

Hi everyone,

Anyone who is interested in learning Chinese? I am interested in finding a language partner who speaks English. I have been a Part-time Chinese teacher for three years Currently live in Basel.

I'll keep an eye on this thread. I'm about to do some travelling for work, which makes arranging regular language exchange sessions difficult, but hope to be more "stable" in a few months.

I've tried language exchange before, a few months ago, but I didn't progress very far. The reason was that I didn't prepare, and what I learnt in the 30 minutes (we did 30 minutes Mandarin, 30 minutes English) I didn't write down. So I then forgot it immediately.

My tip: prepare for the lesson even though it's an informa exchange, and make notes! Also, for anyone who isn't a Chinese beginner I recommend Pleco (of you have an old Palm Pilot anywhere or an iPhone) as you can write characters onto it and it'll give you the English and pinyin. For the PC, Wenlin is good.
