Hey, cool, I was wonderin' if there was a thread on resolutions already...I can't seem to navigate the search ways, it came with nuttin'.
I have another one, get more tech savy, yes.

My resolutions this year:
Get to the end of this pregnancy, lose the weight and try to survive the year with a new born and a toddler. Not spending a penny on visiting people who don't deserve and or appreciated it.
Try to heal for good from a mother-daughter relationship that just put me down for too long.

Have done both in the past although not as new year resolutions.
Result = Tremendous burden lifted. Never looked back and absolutely no regrets.

I'm 2 days into my major new years resolution (shrink Swiss cheese laden arse back into skinny jeans) and I'm suffering detox headache (no dairy, sugar, refined foods or carbs) .
Thank goodness I'm still able to drink the occasional coffee even if it is sans milk or sugar!
My other new years resolutions are in process;
(a) learn to use letterpress machine and design a range of gift cards
(2) go back to school (postponed due to resolution iii)
(iii) make the most of the pending but yet to be determined when move to the US whilst cramming in as much European travel as possible
(*) stay healthy emotionally throughout as I finally got somewhere I'm happy with last year! (Husband is much happier too )
How is everyone else going with their resolutions? |

Instead, depending of how I feel in my after pregnancy body, maybe a 2 weeks back in a 5 * hotel south of Turkey this summer.... Way much cheaper!!!)
For the other resolutions, too early and to fresh to have any results. That will be a hell loads of work.
I have an other resolution is to loose my pregnancy weight as fast as possible, so I will have to be on a very strict diet (which I never done in my life) But this resolution is not going to be before May. |

I'm going to spend a bit more time with old friends. It's so easy to postpone or cry off with people you've known for years, as they know and understand you so well. Well this year, they have priority.

I don't do NY R, but today I signed up for a German course
Unless there are too few people signed up, I'll start on Monday!

We are already into the New Year but I contacted Weight Watchers UK yesterday and have ordered the At Home kit to help me lose the 15kgs I've put on since having kids 3 & 4 and moving to the land of cheese and chocolate! I want to be sexy, fit and fantastic when the big birthday hits next year. It would definitely help though if I could attend WW meetings in English. Any takers to become a WW leader?
My other resolution is keep my house tidy and uncluttered. With 4 kids and small living areas this can be quite a mission at times. My house will NEVER be in Better Homes and Gardens nor will it be to a Swiss housefrau's standard but it will be better than it was!! Five days in and we are doing well |

BUMP BUMP!
First things first, how do you say 'my new year's resolution is ..." in Schwiizertüütsch?
Mine:
- Get a permanent JOB (my contract ends next week)!
- Keep hitting the weights,
- Stop smoking (cigarettes),
- Go back home on holiday more often ...
- Keep smiling...
That's about it.

Didn't notice the date on this thread until I got to Begga's post.
So how did all the NYR turn out?
Normally, I don't set NYR, but instead have medium/long term goals. This year, I'll try to flesh things out by setting some near term targets to make sure I'm making progress.

Couldn't wait for January 1st to get started on my one and only resolution for 2012 and have been busily unsubscribing from email listings that no longer interest me etc. This is an ongoing daily process as there are quite a few to review and action accordingly if appropriate.
The online battle with the bulging email inbox has well and truly begun in earnest and it sure feels good! |
