| | Question about autographed pictures
Hello Forum, I just came across 11 signed photographs of some famous jazz musicians (Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald..etc.) and I was wondering whether anybody knows how to get them appraised (by whom etc.). Any information would be forthcoming.
Thanks

LiB, I'm sure it all depends on what you have.. when the autographs were signed( year ) , what they were signed on ( toilet paper, sheet music ) and the condition.
no doubt if you do a little googling you'll find some online resources and maybe someone with ( ) more knowledge that I.
FYI... I had a Beatles press pack from 1964 signed by "Murray the K" and I sold that in about 1989 for USD 100.--

I wouldn't mind seeing a pic of the Count Basie autograph, I have been a fan of his music since 2000. BTW if anyone is interested in his music try looking for I Got Rhythm(doesn't appear to be online anywhere ) and One O'Clock Jump(theres a few versions of this and the one on youtube and the 3 disc CD set from the EU leaves a lot to be desired...)

Thank you folks, I've done some serious googleing last night and I couldn't really come up with anything decent. I might just take em with me on my next trip across the pond.

I'm a blues man myself...and I cannot really appreaciate Jazz as yet.

Across the pond or somewhere close like Germany(I vaguely remember reading once that jazz was popular there in the 30's.)

That is why I wanted to verfy their authenticity. Some of them were dedicated to him (his name was Kurt). Fortunately, Ella, and Count Basie weren't...(not sure about the Satchmo one).

At the very least they're obviously something that your workmate valued!

Here, as promised.
ps: Could a kind soul please explain me how to attach multiple pictures...as all of those that I took seem to be too large to upload.
