Anyone from Franklin College?

Hi! I just got accepted to Franklin College in Switzerland and wanted to know a little bit more about it. Any students from there on here? What do you think and be brutally honest. Thanks!

Re: Anyone from Franklin College?

erm shouldn't you know more about it before coming?

It's full of bratty rich kids who frequent the Irish pub in Sorengo.

On the bright side, legal drinking age here is around 7 years old. Bring a bucket for your first week or two

Ah, I'm keen to help. Tupac is at Franklin:
How I lost 15,000 gambling my school funds at casino

He or she might be able to show you around and help you out - or at least demonstrate what not to do

Dear planetjumper,

Free is advice is worth what you pay for it. Be careful of statements such as those made by KB88111. There may be a hidden agenda. Franklin has students from 60-plus countries. Fully 60% of these receive financial aid, so don't qualify as "bratty rich kids." There are very hard working students here who go on to the best graduate schools, careers in business, nonprofits, etc. It's a small school; but you will likely find a group of friends, who will likely become your friends for life.

Best advice. Call the admissions office and ask for the names of some students to talk to. Or, PM me and I'll try to arrange an exchange with some students.

For the right person, Franklin can be an amazing experience in terms of its international focus.

KB88111 -- you should think twice about throw away statements like yours. This person is looking for some serious advice concerning a very important life decision.

You tell 'im, Doc, you tell 'im! Rap that wrist good and proper! Ping that piece of chalk off his forehead!

BTW I've been accepted for a "base jump" that I applied for. Perhaps you can tell me, or put me in touch with someone who can tell me, what to expect? Thanks in advance.

Hey, my buddy (who I know since 1992) OWNS that pub (and runs the food service at Franklin College)!

(he picked a GREAT location to open a pub)

Nice to meet you the other night.

Next time, we will be sure to bring some chiles (and garlic) with us.

Hopefully, the pizza will arrive sooner as well!

you're right, sorry. All of the "bratty kids" I've encountered have seemed to be polite and well-behaved. And probably intelligent. Plus the college does rate reasonably as far as I have seen.

You might want to see if Tupac needs a hand though

Re: Anyone from Franklin College?

Try to find the Alumni list- who ended up where after leaving.

Basically you (or your parents) are paying for a service. How reputable is this service?
I did a quick search- no notable alumni nothing on academic standards, lots of photos- beautiful place. Students from all over the world and lot of exchange opportunities.

Go on Wikipedia compare the accolades to the Wikipedia site of a good state college

My advice? Save your money- go to a good US state school. If you don't have the grades for a top state school, go to Community College and get your grades up. Use the savings to go a great holiday in Switzerland.

e.g I compared NY Binghamton & Geneseo ( State Universities) to Franklin.
You can look up the best state universities in your state and do the same.

Franklin College

Do you have an affiliation with Franklin College? Or are they your guaranteed clientele at the pub?
