I was going to publicly thank those EFers who have been good solid friends over the last few years, in all kinds of ways. I was going to write an effusive post, by the end of which I'd be struggling to see the laptop screen through the tears, forcing me to log off and come back in the morning, sober.

And then I remembered that words typed on a computer come cheap, and that what really counts is our continuing friendship and commitment to being around when one of us needs a chat, a pint, several tonnes of manure shifting, or quite an important document countersigning.

I joined EF many years ago when I deleted my own help-the-expats-yahoo-groups. Over the years sadly I haven't met many of you in the flesh, but I was able to build up many a lovely online friendship with members, and those friendships have truly enriched my life for which I would like to say a big THANK YOU !

And an even bigger thank you to those (you know who you are!) who never gave up on me during the hellish past two years and stayed in touch with me and welcomed me back with open arms!

I will never forget that!!!

Well there are quite some angels here - Nil, Lib, Musicchick..... but most of all Lou for being so supportive when my boy was stillborn and for getting me in touch with the people in Scotland and for sending me the leaf to be engraved....Thank you again and again!

I must thank all the people who gave me green things to offset the barrage of red Turkish delights that I was receiving. I do have mixed feelings as I was quiet attached to my red sweets. Maybe I can work on getting them back?
