Internal flights in South Africa .. reliable? - Page 2

Ja... Mango is about 1/3 the price of BA and SAA .... and now I see BA are having a "special" ... at only double the price of Mango! ...hahaa .....
I was nearly tempted ... but then ..... sanity prevailed .. and I am going to stick to Mango. I allowed FIVE hours.....

.... between arriving Jhb and the Swiss flight home (well, "home", you know what I mean)

I've used Mango, 1-time and Kulula on 10 different flights over the last 9 months. Each time my newborn son came with us, and all of them were great with regards to things like keeping his pram on the plane, and making sure it was there as soon as we stepped off the plane.

Only once have we had a flight delayed, and that was from Durbs, to Lanseria, and it was 30 mins at most. Yes I've heard "horror" stories from people, but I've heard the same stories from family in the UK. Sometimes things do happen, but I don't think any more than anywhere else in the world right now

If you're there 5 hours ahead, you should have tons of time to spare. You could even drive to JHB in 5 hours from Durban

If you are booking Swiss, you can book straight to Durban from here and they arrange the codeshare flight for you - you might have booked by now, but if not, might be worth looking at.

Go with the flight that suits your schedule and is cheapest (if there are several choices)

Flying BA does not mean you wont get delayed - I flew Johannesburg-Nelspruit last year with BA and was 2 hours delayed on a 40 min flight....

These things happen on any airline, so might as well go with the timing that works best for you and makes sure you have a buffer to catch your Swiss flight in case of delays
