Re: Resturants in Annecy, FR

It's a little outside of Annecy (Talloires) and I've not actually eaten there, but this place has been on my list for a little while:

Very nice but that's going to be an expensive lunch :-)

The OP might want to tell us a bit more about the context (e.g. budget, occasion, taste ...)

Re: Resturants in Annecy, FR

We've lunched a few times at Auberge du Lyonnais
http://www.auberge-du-lyonnais.com/

On the plus side:
Right in the centre of the old town
Beside the canal
Nice terrace/ambiance for eating outside in Summer
Won't break the bank

On the minus side:
Food is traditional and on the heavy side
Quality can be hit and miss

Thank's Nev, that looks comfortable!

I'm not concerned about budget really, the Perebise looks very good and deffinately worth a visit in the summer month's for long Lunch.

Re: Resturants in Annecy, FR

Having lunch on a boat (le libellule) that's doing a tour of the lake is nice to do. Can't remember what the food was like, but it wasn't bad. Boat leaves from the middle of town, right by the town hall.

Then if you don't care about the price, you could go to Marc Veyrat's restaurant, even if the old fraud has flogged it off. See "La nouvelle maison de Marc Veyrat". I haven't been there myself, so I shouldn't be harsh. Heston Blumenthal told me that the old one was rather good, so it can't be bad .

I'd recommend Le Clos des Sens.
