People weren't born addicted. They slowly became addicted, choosing to ignore the signs and succumbing to the addiction. Addiction is really just a symptom of some weakness in character. When addicts choose to fight their addiction, they usually have two battles:
1. the addiction itself
2. dealing with the reason why they became addicted in the first place.
Reason number 2 is usually the cause of most addiction. Something caused them to look for the "escape". Whether it be drugs, food, alcohol whatever.
