Re: Nostradamus and the current revolts

Well there was that thing that the Hopey Indians said in America, that the sea would turn black, mmm BP oil spill! lol

Nostradamus did predict that a man named Hilter would take over the world and all that stuff... interesting...

We most certainly do Nil , however freedom of speech and democracy means a greater demand by the people for food - imported food - and thats where it gets tricky.
Maybe some countries should learn in a near futur to be less greedy and share what is available for the benefice of everybody?

Ok, let's not foul ourselves...

"Beasts ferocious with hunger will cross the rivers,
The greater part of the battlefield will be against
Hister.
Into a cage of iron will the great one be drawn,
When the child of Germany observes nothing."

Re: Nostradamus and the current revolts

Thought I should go to the source, so I looked up the um... relevant quatrains:

century: 5, quatrain: 68
Dans le Danube & du Rhin viendra boire
Le grand Chameau, ne s'en repentira:
Trembler du Rosne, & plus fort ceux de Loire
Et pres des Alpes Coq le ruinera.

century: 5, quatrain: 68
In the Danube and of the Rhine will come to drink
The great Camel, not repenting it:
Those of the Rhône to tremble, and much more so those of the Loire,
and near the Alps the Cock will ruin him.

Seems crystal clear to me now.

Re: Nostradamus and the current revolts

I own a book, Die grossen Prophezeiungen des Nostradamus in moderner Deutung (The Big Prophecies By Nostradamus In Modern Interpretation), by Kurt Allgeier, Wilhelm Heyne Verlag, Munich, 1982, ISBN 3-453-01529-0.

Pages 1 - 104 cover predictions by Nostradamus that came true. Result: He was practically infallible. Pretty much everything everything he had predicted actually happened.

The rest, i.e. pages 105 - 163 cover things that had not happened yet, things in the future from the 1982 point of view. Now please try to read this without rolling on the floor.

Here we go: Big famine in Italy, beginning 1986. The USA, the Soviet Union and China become enemies. No mention of Chernobyl and the like. World War III begins 1987, opened by the destruction of the Assuan Dam. From Iran, the Arabs launch an attack on the Vatican and destroy it. As a consequence, the Soviet Union attacks the western world with nuclear missiles. New York City is destroyed.

On April 21, 1987 (other possible date: July 23, 1989; for once Nostradamus is a bit vague), the Arabs invade Turkey and Egypt. France and Spain are attacked by Arabs from five sides. Germany is conquered by Arabs: "The great camel would come to drink in the Rhine."

No surprise it's not the Danube in this version, because Nostradamus very rarely used real geographical names or proper names. So "the Great One" can be the Danube, the Rhine, the Atlantic, Napoleon, Stalin, Jupiter, the sun, God, Coca Cola, the Hiroshima bomb, just about anything, depending on the interpreter.

Sorry, back to the topic. Somewhere near the Alps, the invaders are stopped by the French. The result of that encounter is not specified, just the fact that the Arabs rule the entire world for the next 73 years and seven months.

Following the invasion there is a worldwide famine, the worst of all times. People eat wood and pull babies away from their mothers' breasts to eat them (the babies, silly). Around the end of Mai 1988 there is a huge earthquake, biggest ever, location unspecified, but big enough to darken the skies for several days.

In October 1988, there is the worst solar eclipse ever, not just a run-off-the-mill eclipse caused by the moon, but some kind of a monstrous solar hiccough that almost kicks the earth out of its orbit. The sun turns into a nova but gets back to normal after seven days. It can't get much more stupid, but that's my very personal opinion.

The earth gets damaged by a poisonous cloud emitted by the sun. The cloud almost destroys Mercury and Venus. We are still in 1988, mind you. How come we never noticed anything?

The author, of course, does not waste a single word on petty details like the fall of the Iron Curtain, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the resulting wars and the like. Simple reason: those were things that really happened.

In August 1998, the earth's axis begins to wobble and eventually topples. The entire earth flips over, causing huge floodings that change the shapes of all continents.

World War III goes on way into the 21st century. Needless to say the author didn't say anything about 9/11 and the consequences thereof. But why bother about reality?

The dictator of France, together with Germany, Austria, Poland and Russia, fights against the Arabs and against the curly-bearded dictator of Italy. Around 2005 the communist system collapses and the Soviet Union disintegrates into several smaller countries. Ok, that's 15 years later than in reality, but who cares?

Paris is destroyed, but probably still in the first decade of the 21st century, WW III ends. I wonder how that goes together with the 73 years and seven months of Arab dominance mentioned before. No problem, though. What counts is the peaceful period of 57 years that follows. Europe gets rebuilt in full glory.

Now isn't it good to know what we all missed? I mean, where were the media? What did we pay Billag for?

I can tell you folks, reading such a book eliminates the last bit of doubt as to the reliability of Nostradamus' predictions. And the funniest thing is, the author was dead serious.
