Help with HP printer/cartridge compatibility issue please?

Hello all
I brought my HP Photosmart printer over from the US where it uses HP564 cartridges. In Europe these same cartridges are sold as product number HP364 as per the HP web site. Same part; different part number. My printer is rejecting these cartridges as the wrong cartridge! Any idea how I inform my US printer it needs to accept this European cartridge number?! Anyone else ever run into this type of problem? Any useful advice appreciated!

Cheers
Sue

I believe you might be trying to change only one cartridge.. Try changing BOTH cartridges at the same time. I have had the same problem and it was resolved by changing both cartridges to either the swiss type or the american type..

Re: Help with HP printer/cartridge compatibility issue please?

We had exactly the same problem with our HP printer bought across from Australia. It seems that the ink cartridges are region coded . I've been making do by removing the electronic tag off the Australian cartridge with a scalpel and attaching it onto the new cartridge. This does however make lots of bells and whistles go off about using non-HP products and re-using refilled cartridges thereby put it out of warranty. The cartridges also seem not to last as long

We're buying a new printer soon and it wont be HP!
