United States vs. Switzerland?

The Question is, Which Country is better and why? Please give out your key points.

Switzerland, we got the bestest cowbells...

You may want to define which points you want to compare... the army? our awesome presidents? the quality of the neighbours?

You don't get "up close and personal" with security staff at the airports in Switzerland. All you need to know.

I have flown a few times in the last six months in the US, and nothing different from flying in Switzerland. Of course, there is the possibility, of a nude picture (god forbid anyone wants to see me nude)

In California, you will drivereverywhere, may be able to buy a house someday with a yard and they will work your ass off and expect you to be happy with 3 weeks of vacation which you may or may not be able to use. Or maybe you find a nicer employer. Apples and oranges and personal situations and desires. Find somewhere YOU are happy.

Now someone from California who moved to Switzerland a gazillion years ago, will come on here and tell you how great Switzerland is and that California sucks. But really it is all about you.

I love Switzerland and I love the US. I am happy about anywhere (at least in the developed world). As long as I can cycle, ski, drink beer, read books, have good conversation with friends and eat good food. I am pretty simple though.

"what is better? 120k fix or 90k salary with bonus?"
"what is better? blue or green eyes?"
"what is better? a wet fart or a loud one?"
"what is better? lambo or ferrari?"

That one's easy: it's Walmart because the jeans are cheaper.

To the OP: It would help a little if you give us an outline of your current situation and your aspirations.

Have you recently been offered jobs in both countries and wish to compare? Were the salaries comparable? Do you like skiing and hiking, or do you prefer hanging around on the beach? How good is your French/German/Italian/Spanish?

Tell us a little more and we might be able to help you compare what matters to you, rather than giving you vague answers about the weather and supermarkets.

I hate those sorts of daft comparisons! Anyway, are we talking Kansas versus Tessin, or Vaud versus Colorado, Obwald versus NY?

Re: United States vs. Switzerland?

This is a bad post.... you can't compare like that. However from my point of view if it's for meeting birds in bars, I think America. This place sucks.

Actually we are talking off-topic or delete. Posting in it is a waste of good banning time for me.

Re: United States vs. Switzerland?

I would say USA, you never know the difference unless you get out of CH, i (Personally) dislike the Swiss bureaucracy, capitalism, arrogance and lack of human values, i find it hard to enjoy living in anyway and i have tried for over 5 years now in every possible condition, i feel i'm kept in a big prison rather than being free.

Sorry everyone on EF but i'm out of CH now and i hate the fact i'm coming back more than ever, therefore i decided to move on out of there ASAP, i want to feel free again and enjoy living my life while working hard rather than being a tool in such a capitalistic system.
