Adjusting to Daylight savings time?

OK,

Who else is feeling the pain of the early starts?

I know I'll get used to it with time, and especially love the long summer evenings....... but who has some tips on how to "Aufstehen" in the morning?

Our two year old. The rest of us are a bit older and seem to be able to manage.

But surely it's just like jet-lag, in it's mildest form - like flying to London and complaining about jet-lag the next morning?

You'll be fine in a couple of days.

You should make up your mind...

One side you talk to snip snip it and on the other side to grow a pair... It is getting confusing... Maybe to grow it and snip snip it?

Save both, no growing, no snip snip!

That's already too late (don't you have children to get up and get off to school?).

Don't get me wrong, I'm no early morning saint. I've always been a stay up late and get up late person. Two things have always countered that - work and children.

I used to set the alarm earlier than needed and hit snooze several times, cat-napping in between. This doesn't work.
What I do now is set the alarm only slightly earlier and get up as soon as it goes off and then just spend the short extra time I've allowed to slowly wake up properly whilst I'm getting dressed and getting the breakfasts ready.
I feel better for this approach to mornings.

The other thing after changing the clocks, is not to spend the following week or so mentally reverting back to what this time would have been before the change - get your (ones) head round the new time from minute one.

TiMow, pointing out sunrise doesnt indicate what time I get up. I have raised and exported my kids, I get up at 05h00 (but then I have a dog not a life) hence my expression of larks and owls.

Early morning "shenanigans" with a fellow bed partner usually shakes one awake...

Actually, so is morning morose for some, a medical condition (see some responses here, hah). Some people (you know, people say he got up on the wrong side of the bed) are grumpy bastids in the morning, not knowing it, since they really are asleep, still. For about...20mins.

Early morning shinenigans do help with this, sure. Or bringing them coffee to bed, opening window, fresh air, something to snap them out of the mooky mood. Some r&r

You mean I have been chosen to be the vessel for the second medical miracle? Wow, not bad for a non-believer, although the last choice was an odd one too.

(Oh boy, I bet I'll offend a few now).
