Struggling to think of other newbies that managed that, even Canadian Dude managed a few months.

You know.... I believe the lady must have had something that upset her and she was just expressing an emotion, not really words.
Things will be brighter in the morning, they invariably are.

Don't quite know about that...

I know it is not polite, but I was going through her posts and most of them sound too ... for lack of a better word ... "cocky". And thats going back almost 3-4 years...

Anyways, I hope she finds what she is looking for.

You know the OP of the "African-Americans" thread and the one who was so rude this evening aren't the same person, right?

To be fair it was KMN (and not the OP) who was errr how to put it... was incensed that someone who couldn't connect with her ethnic origins might actually want to get to know her without being babysat... or something like that... TBH, still trying to get my head around it...

Re: How long between your first post thread closed?

Yeah, I met the original poster, who is definitely very confident and outgoing but if I looked like her, I'd be no different She was also nice and approachable, so I guess you can be the only African-American in the village without making other people feel like they can only admire you from afar or that they are just far too ignorant and boring to talk to.

Weeeelllll...One the one hand, generalizing a whole culture/race based on a few people is quite juvenile.

But then again, the culture in question has been through quite a lot...so this might have some bearing.

But, who are we to judge, eh ?

To each his own and all that...

No rudeness usually crosses ethnic boundaries quite easily.

Sorry, but just 'cos you've got an MBA from an "Ivy league" (which means little these days anyway) college, doesn't mean you need to be rude.

I have no issue with people connecting with people from their own culture - heck look at EF for a case in point - however, you don't need to do so with your head that far up your own arse.
