Re: Has any body won a prize?

Back in the 1970's, my OH's aunt won a contest sponsored by Rice-a-Roni ("The San Francisco Treat," for those of you from the US and of a certain age ). Her prize was......wait for it.... a rickshaw.

Sunny Day has no particular reputation at present
Re: Has any body won a prize?

I won a guess the weight of the cake once and guess the number of sweets in a jar. I also won the first prize in a raffel where my jazz playing father was gigging. My mother told me to choose the jazz cassette, when I really wanted the bottle of booze. Ah, those were the days when I did what I was told. lol

So you wouldn't have traded it for a rickshaw, a la "Let's Make a Deal?"

I don't know... I may have been temped by Barkers Beauties..

Bob, Could I have whats behind curtain two please?

( or am I mixing up two shows there ? )

p.s.. reading SunnyDay's post I remembered I also won a door prize recently at a concert put on locally... with prize was a choice between a CD of the guest artists that night or a bottle of Jameson's whisky... I chose the Jamesons, and then had to walk back to my chair, in front of the guest artists, rather sheepishly.

Let's Make a Deal = Monty Hall, dressed up contestants, trading out prizes to get better ones, and Doors 1, 2, & 3 thing at the end.

Price is Right = Bob Barker and his Beauties, pricing games, the "Big Wheel", and the Showcase at the end. No trading. Still on air today with Drew Carey as host.

HTH!

(Apologies to OP, now back on-topic)

Just trying to find out if someone or know of anyone who has won a prize.(No names) I have sent in and sms alot of Zu gewinnen sind. Mainly in the "Schweizer family". So is it for real? I will keep trying every week, checking the post every day. I did win a drink bottle and a small football at the local sports shop appro. My son did win ONE ticket and transport to a B, munich foootball match. So thats something. Good luck to you.
Kev.
I was cold called by somebody named after a famous British Prime Minister. It may have been Clement Attlee or Ted Heath but I can't remember. Even if I could I wouldn't be allowed to type that name on this forum. I won the opportunity to put all my money into a tax efficient wrapper so that he could gradually consume it all in administartion fees. I never collected that prize.

Re: Has any body won a prize?

In the last 3 years my Swiss in-laws have won: 2 umbrellas, a juicer, several "Gutscheine" and a dyson vacuum cleaner! And that is just what I know about. My father-in-law basically fills out any card that promises something to win and has won and won and won. So, yeah, it's possible.

I would have love that!!

I've never won anything.

But I can link two threads in EF. That must be worth something. This one & the what are you reading one:

The Prize Winner, about a woman in the 50s who supported her family by entering contests and sweepstakes.

Re: Has any body won a prize?

A friend of mine "won" (as in bid on it in an auction) a wedding present for us 10 years ago. It was a turnstile from the Dell. Sadly we never managed to ship it over here and it's been languishing in an unknown back garden somewhere near Southampton Uni probably rusted to bits by now .
