? Robot Vacuum Cleaner: what's your experience?

I'm intending to buy a robot vacuum cleaner. As the whole thing is rather costly, I wish to ask if someone has one and whats the experience? Is it worth the money? Or do you still have to clean manually to get all the dirt?

My SIL has had a few generations of them. The newer ones are much better, but you still need to vacuum weekly. They don't do stairs (we have stairs to 4.5 levels), otherwise I would get one

My stairs and kitchen I could do daily...

I read many reviews on them and they have changed the brushes on newer models, so look for a Roomba model 500+. For the Scooba they said they needed cleaning after every use.

I also checked those test reports, but nothing beats to a real life "housewife" tester.

I've much experience of robot vacuum cleaner; it was a complete and utter save of time.

I don't see how they can be very good if you have pets.

Other than that, every time I see one... I think of Woomba.
