MC, on that note - if you ever fancy a chess or shooting buddy, let me know! I haven't played chess forever and I miss it.
Also, ever since I tried target shooting a year ago I've really wanted to go again, but I would like to pair up with someone who would be willing/patient enough to share some tips and expertise to refine my shooting technique.
As long as I don't have to do the chores in a french maid outfit....
Funny you mention that... we just had "French Maid Mash Potatoes" tonight for dinner. The idea of you dressed-up doing chores- hawt!
Seriously though, I find it is (mostly) the little things that give me those delightful feelings of happiness so remembered from childhood. For instance, last weekend I visited the Trümmelbach Falls (ok, they're big) and it was like Disneyland for me- my senses were overwhelmed and I felt joy. Something small and deffo weird is seeing the Chihuahua's walk up stairs- when they arrived in our family they were too small to go up them themselves (Miss L-P thinks it's sweet too). Another is when I get email from one specific childhood friend, as this person was around from that carefree time. Or the time I woke Miss L-P in the middle of the night to do something really naughty- she went wild with the idea, but I was ecstatic jumping up and down with it.
Yes, it really is the little things.
Big hugli's to you Ouchboy, you'll get through this. Btw, there will be another growing-up period to go through as you hit 40 and you'll get through that one too.

It is not that simple. BUT a group of like minded friends taking the same drug at the same time over a few days can show you happiness like you never thought of, summer + an in house dj and a pool helps, ahhhh life before responsibility got in the way...........

I have similar memories of my younger years... minus the drugs. Was pretty fantastic though.
Then again, my swimming memories involved this place (among others) and the rough waves here meant you had to have your head on straight.

...made me thing about this. Relevant to growing up and being a kid. Just for laughs though:
Peg, tahnks for the info, I'm looking at climbing.
For those who said about motorcycles, some friends of mine bought some bikes in Mexico and were planning to do a trip through the US. I could join them..
@ ouchboy: Take up tennis lessons with my wife... Take two get one for free... It will cost you few chuffs but heck that's a price of happiness we need to pay for
She will make you run, laugh and choke for breath. You will sweat and scratch your itchy skin from dusty clay. You will beg for drop of cool water and your tongue will stick out your mouth with exhaustion. Other words you will be drained and after these few hours of misery you will appreciate the taste of cool lager on the deck, hot chicken wings and aromatic smell of hubbly-bubbly
Sense of life will be immediately restored in you...

Don't just talk about it with a trailing off sentence. That sounds as if you are putting a "but" in the way. Just go and do it. If you need more inspiration, watch "The Motorcyle Chronicles." I will never regret the time I took out to have my own big adventure.
