Re: Dream car!

I must admit that I had my first I-wish-I-had-a-licence pang in years the other afternoon when a colleague gave me a lift in her Smart car. A lovely little thing, a bit cheeky and breezy - just my kind of ride!

I fell in love with those when I visited here before my move.

IF I got a car here, it would be one of two extremes, a Smart for ease of parallel parking or something large enough to transport Ikea purchases comfortably.

My "wish I had my license" pangs happen here not in reference to cars themselves but to missing my road-tripping days. I really used to love hopping in the car and going for a drive, whether it was to visit friends who lived 4hrs away (I'd *love* to see more of some of the EF folks I've met who live in different cities), drive up to see family in other states or simply go for a "day trip," following wherever the road took me that day.

Re: Dream car!

When I was a kid, I wanted to own a GMC Sierra Grande.
Then, later on, when I actually had the money and the license, I realized that it's now a car from the 70s - and probably completely crap by today's standards.
However, unlimited funds provided, I'd probably go for this one:

Practical and nice-looking (and a good engine).

OK, actually it's hideous. Just couldn't resist adding it to the rest of the car porn.

Skyline R32 GT-R.

Not quite on the same budget as needed for a Zonda or a DB5, but on the upside; it's mine, it's here in CH, and it has passed the MFK and will have CH plates on it next week.

Re: Dream car!

This is a hard one to choose one car, someone's already put up the DB5, so....

XJ13 Jaguar, one of a kind. Plus they wont sell it.

dream-car-xj13.jpg

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_XJ13

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/dri...icle654783.ece (The finest Jaguar that never was)

I’m hoping for an easier ride. It’s scary just to sit in the XJ13: the cockpit is full of flickering dials to read and sharp-edged metal to snag your skin on. Not only can I hear and feel the menacing V12, I can see it too, so close behind me it appears bolted to the back of my seat. I give the throttle a blip and it snarls right back at me. This, I suspect, is going to be brutal.
