Learning Korean in Zürich

Hello all

I am new to this forum and have signed up because I may be working in a research lab at ETH Zurich over the summer. For my first post I have a question that may be sort of unusual: Does anyone know where I might find assistance in learning Korean in Zurich? One of the main reasons I want to come to Zurich is to practice my German, but something (or maybe I should say someone) has made learning Korean very important to me . Therefore, if anyone here wants to help a total beginner (I have some textbooks and am slowly teaching myself hangul - its logical, but hard since its so unfamiliar..don't give me too much 야유 ) or has any suggestions on where I could find some help, let me know ^.^

Re: Learning Korean in Zürich

I cannot help you directly, since I am a beginner myself and I don't know any Korean speakers here in Zürich.

But I can recommend you this website: http://www.talktomeinkorean.com/
The best language course I've ever seen, the lessons are very entertaining and easy to follow.
The problem with Korean textbooks is that they often use some very formal, uncommon words and grammar that is only used in written language.

Please let me know if you find some Korean teachers here

Re: Learning Korean in Zürich

Yes, I have been using that website as well! One of the girls sounds so cute when she speaks English lol. I have also been using a website called "Click Korean" from Seoul university: http://language.snu.ac.kr/site/en/kl...rean/index.jsp as well as a textbook called "Elementary Korean" by Ross King, which seems to be accepted as the best one....on amazon at least.

I guess I will just go to a Korean restaurant or something and try to find/ convince somebody to help me out. Of course, if I am able to do so, I will let you know!
