Eeek! There's a bug eating the Titanic!

Okay, really, it is 27 strains of bacteria but still, they're eating it! Even scarier, they apparently have "social intelligence!"

Gigantic New SuperOrganism with Social Intelligence is Devouring the Titanic!

Quote:
Scientists believe that this strange super-organism is using a common microbial language that could be either chemical or electrical -a phenomenon called "quorum sensing" by which whole communities "sense" each other's presence and activities aiding and abetting the organization, cooperation, and growth.

Peg is... getting her geek on.

I'm not sure why (maybe I should clean my glasses) but I thought I saw that written as "more intelligenter"... I just knew that couldn't be, DB would never have written that.

(I promise, I have neither gotten into the Easter candy yet nor had a tipple of Baileys any time recently)

Well, given that I used one of those dreadful internet abbreviations, you can be excused for presuming the worst of the rest of my post...
