Re: It's quiet in here.... wait a minute, what do I hear? WAAAAAA!!!!!!!

BRAVO -

got back from the UK very late last night - thought about you often, but didn't have access to t'net! Very happy to hear all went well and all in fine fettle despite not much sleep. Hope you are getting lots of help and support from out-laws. xxxxxx Odile

Re: It's quiet in here.... wait a minute, what do I hear? WAAAAAA!!!!!!!

Thanks guys!

Do you know how stressful it is to change a little boy's nappies? Oh my God!

At the moment you take the clothes out, the socks especially, he gets very angry and move his legs all over the place. So you have to fight against the octopus legs (I knew I had an octopus when I was pregnant...) and you also need to avoid the most important part; the shower!

How you manage that? I bought the Peepee Teepee to put on his weewee to avoid the fatal shower but he moves so much, it doesn't stay on him!

Last night I almost got my first shower. Thankfully, at the very last moment, I had a instinctive reaction to avoid it and it was send to the wall...

My stress level raise at every nappies changing time.... How long can this be good for my blood pressure?

Re: It's quiet in here.... wait a minute, what do I hear? WAAAAAA!!!!!!!

- congratulations!

1. Open the nappies on both sides.
2. Do not fold down the front yet.
3. Wait.
4. Wait (maybe sing a little)
5. He's probably done wee wee now.
6. You can fold down the front of the nappy and change as per usual.

Or - let his little legs wiggle around with no clothes on. Babies love that, and now it's getting warmer it shouldn't be a problem. Put a light towel or muslin cloth across, if you're worried about another "shower".

I vote that Mr Nil should change all the nappies

This is the voice of experience.... thanks, I'll try that one for sure. For now, our little boy hates to be undressed. It is a huge crise every single time and he stops at the moment you put the socks on.

Hubby has been the Official Nappies Changer the whole week. I married the jackpot, I am telling you. Nothing scares him!

Ha ha! Oh the memories.

You can also make sure that his willy is pointing "south" while you are changing him, so if he does let one go it just soaks the changing mat rather than his vest, T-shirt, hair, etc.

Otherwise, if you are lucky you can feel the front of his nappy and if it's still warm, you know he's just let one go so you can change him in relative safety, on the assumption he has just "emptied the tank".

Re: It's quiet in here.... wait a minute, what do I hear? WAAAAAA!!!!!!!

I know a friend with her triplets-boys told me they pee when the fresh air (usually colder than moist warm diaper) hits their little thing. So, I would count on him peeing when you lift the diaper? I can't imagine her changing three newborn boys and thinking about pee shower ...bless her.

A friend of mine got it in his mouth.... Funny for others to hear the story but I don't want to be the one being laugh at when I'll say a similar story. I'll prefer to not have the ''experience''.

Yeah, I hear ya. Although you know they say pee of a newborn is as sterile as it can get.

I am jealous you can actually have coffee and a newborn, darn it, hahahaha, those modern moms with the perks of not nursing. I couldn't even have lame decaf, since the tiny bit in it was making our kiddo wired.

Hope the little sir is doing well and you get some sleep!

I know I am really late, but I have the excuse of being well out of the country and without internet access...

CONGRATS NIL (and family)!! I hope you are now settling into a nice schedule with the two little ones.

Seems like one can't go on a vacation for two weeks because when one comes back one finds all the exciting things have happened without one even knowing.... all the best and I'm happy for you it went well!
