Re: The Apprentice-2011 series

If ever there was a platform for massively over selling your self...
The contestants are far too young. They need somebody with wisdom, humility and experience, not the usual Kirby/Timeshare sales people it tends to attract.

Still, it's good viewing and a laugh. Very British to have a show that laughs at people that take themselves too seriously. I often wonder if Alan thinks he is the real loser.

Just had to bring this thread up again purely to say; Jaysus, they're bad this year (2016), aren't they?

Britain's budding business brains. Not.

I've never watched much of this but judging from the bits and pieces I have seen, haven't they always been dreadful?

True but I suppose if they picked genuine entrepreneurs the programme would be a bit boring (from a ratings perspective)...

I've also only watched bits and pieces - mainly having to change channel to prevent me throwing the remote through the screen.

Re: The Apprentice-2011 series

What kind of screening do they actually do?
Is it purely based on the CV and the business plan?
Just wondering as some candidates look useless even on first sight.

I guess they interview (evaluate?) them and pick the ones that the producers deem will bring the necessary spice to the show.

The pompous ass, the ditsy bimbo, the bossy one, the one that thinks they are god's gift to business, etc. Do they all scrub up well? Token northerner, token "older" contestant? OK, good to go.

The CV and the business plan are either not that important or they stooge them up with a fake one to create a background.

Of course you are.

They all seem to be just as useless as each other based on the odd bits of it I've seen.

I think they're selected more for entertainment value than business acumen.

And the token ethnic minority or two. Don't forget them.

The only thing missing is a Yulin dog.
