Irrational fear

Picking up the new car in 45 min and driving it back to Fribourg from Bern. Why do I have this irrational fear that some idiot will rear-end me at some stage of the journey? I've driven it countless times without a single incident, yet now.....

Our last car I bought in Zürich and drove home to Fribourg (with a bootful of mice, but that's another story) and I never had these fears then.

Re: Irrational fear

It will be fine, I am sure. I would probably have a dinner somewhere on the way back to avoid peak traffic if you are really worried.

Yeah, a couple of pints with dinner should help settle any nerves...

Just pick the car up. Avoiding things you fear makes it worse in my experience.

Well, that's a given. I'm not going to NOT pick it up now, am, I?

And I know, 99% of things we worry about never actually happen.

have a couple of stiff drinks too, that should help calm those nerves before you get on the motorway.

I might even take the bottle with me. It is quite a warm, humid day after all.

Is it Friday or is it Saturday?

I need to know whether it's worth buying a EuroMillions ticket.

Re: Irrational fear

Hope it's not like last Saturday afternoon when I drove done to Bauhaus, when the heavens opened - and some.
Oh ..... just heard first rumblings of thunder.

..... and beware self fulfilling prophecies.

Have you ever been walking towards someone on a collision course, with both simultaneously realising, and making course adjustments .... until the inevitable happens ....

Alles dabei ....
