| | Irish Survey - help me with some basic costs
Hello all. I am going to Ireland in the next month without any idea what things are going to cost, other than the flight, room, care rental of course. I was in London a couple years ago, and that whole thing was quite expensive.
So here is a quick survey if possible...
Price of a loaf of bread
Price of a pint of Beer
Price for a pound of chicken
How much would one blow on average on a night out Pub/night club-disco
What can one expect to pay on a average day out
Anythin weird I should be prepared for?
Any interesting tips. PS I'll be in Cork county.

4 euros for a pint - or was, a couple years ago.
(Should be 10-20% cheaper across the board than London, if monster.ie is to be believed. And Cork's not Dublin so probably a bit lower yet.)

If you can afford all those things in Switzerland, I wouldn't worry about the cost in Ireland...

Hi I have tried to answer some of your questions, see below in Bold let me know if you have any other query's | Quote: | | | | | Hello all. So here is a quick survey if possible...
Price of a loaf of bread - don`t know
Price of a pint of Beer €4 ish - cheaper if you drink Beamish or Murphys
Price for a pound of chicken don`t know
How much would one blow on average on a night out Pub/night club-disco €60 - €80 - clubs in Cork aren`t great to be honest
What can one expect to pay on a average day out Depends what you want to do, entry fees for tourist attractions are roughly €10 per adult
Anythin weird I should be prepared for? Rain followed by sunshine followed by rain all within 15mins
Any interesting tips. PS I'll be in Cork county. In Cork city, have a walk around the university campus & go to the English Market, especially if you are self catering.
Around Co. Cork, the Jameson distillery in Midelton is very interesting IMHO, seaside towns such as Kinsale, Clonakilty, Baltimore are v. nice also and there are a lot of beaches around both West & East Cork.
Also the islands around West Cork are very picturesque, try taking a ferry to Cape Clear or Sherkin from Baltimore, there is an excellent kayaking company in West Cork - http://www.atlanticseakayaking.com/, that i can definetly recommend
For eating out have a look at early bird options etc. I have found a lot of value when visiting home recently
